CHILD AND FAMILY THERAPY
Tess offers individual counselling to children as well as support to parents. She supports children experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, sleep issues, behavioural concerns, friendship issues, learning difficulties and neurodevelopmental disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She uses evidence based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness in her work with children and their families.
Tess enjoys working collaboratively with kindergartens and schools to support children to receive appropriate early school based intervention. She is also experienced in working within allied health teams to provide holistic, individualised support to children and families.
Tess offers cognitive and educational assessments used to identify learning strengths and needs including Giftedness, Intellectual Disability, and Specific Learning Disorders such as Dyslexia and Dysgraphia. Tess also provides assessments of neurodevelopmental disorders including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Tess enjoys working to enhance the support children receive following assessment outcomes by working collaboratively with the child, their family, school settings, teachers and key support people.
