CHILD AND FAMILY THERAPY
Tess offers individual counselling to children as well as support to parents. She supports children experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, sleep issues, behavioural concerns, friendship issues, learning difficulties and neurodevelopmental disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She uses evidence based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness in her work with children and their families.
Tess enjoys working collaboratively with kindergartens and schools to support children to receive appropriate early school based intervention. She is also experienced in working within allied health teams to provide holistic, individualised support to children and families.
Tess offers cognitive and educational assessments used to identify learning strengths and needs. Tess also provides assessments of neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Tess enjoys working to enhance the support children receive following assessment outcomes.
A standard 50 minute consultation either in person or via telehealth is $195. This fee is less than the Australian Psychological Society’s (APS) Schedule of Recommended Fees, which sets a standard 50 minute consultation at $267.
Medicare rebates may be available with a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from a General Practitioner or Paediatrician. Standard rebates are $88.25 per session for in person and telehealth appointments, or $110.80 for outside of clinic sessions including school support. Assessment sessions and psychological reports may be rebatable if they form part of an autism diagnostic assessment with a referral from a Paediatrician or are claimed through a private health fund.
